We're still being held up by one piece of paper.... It's so frustrating!!!
On Friday, the Russian judge requested a paper from the Alaska Dept of Commerce saying that our social worker was licensed to do homestudies.
Here's the issue.. There is no license for homestudies. There is a license for a social worker!! Which she has...
We did have a letter from Office of Children's Services, a very nice letter listing all the social worker credentials and saying she has a lot of experience with home studies and adoption. Duh! She's been doing it for 20 years and did the boys' adoption. But the judge didn't like this letter...
So Dept of Commerce won't write the letter because it's not under their jurisdiction and OCS 's letter is unacceptable to the judge!!!
So what do we do now??????
I don't know. But Wednesday I'm driving to Anchorage, picking up Olga (head of our agency) and we are going to both try to tackle the issue at the state offices.
Wish us luck, because without this "approval" we will NOT get a court date to bring her home...
