Busy, Busy, Busy... Here's a snapshot of our recent activities ;)
*Katie had surgery to remove her adenoids, clear some blockage in her ear (she had no hearing in her left ear) and put tubes in. She did great going into the surgery, charming everyone along the way. We had some issues with breathing after the surgery and it took her quite a few days to get her breathing back under control. We made one trip to the doctor thinking she had water in her lungs, but it might just have been a reaction to being put under during the surgery. The good news is her latest hearing test has finally checked out for the first time she's able to hear out of her left ear!
*Kindergarten Orientation-Katie will be 5 in August, so we're sitting on the fence about sending her or not. But she had a ball at the recent kindergarten orientation... She loved everything and is not shy at all about leaving mom!
*3rd grade orientation-Sammy is graduating from the k/2 elementary and moving next door to the big 3rd-5th grade with his brother. He was all casual about it, but told me that he could no longer wear his baby shoes or baby backpack.... They grow up so fast!
*Trees-We've been cutting down trees a lot lately. We're clearing another 1/2 an acre to expand the yard. The wind storms of winter did a lot of damage so it prompted us to continue it and clean it all up. It's been exhausting work every night, but we're in the chipping stage and next week we'll work on stump removal. There's a lot of them. Hopefully by mid-june we'll be planting grass seed!
*Spring has finally hit Alaska, the buds are starting to turn, grass is barely turning green. But we've had 3 days we're we've hit 60 degrees! It's been beautiful the past 2 days with blue sky and lots of sunshine.
*Graduating--Katie has 2 days left of preschool, her graduation is this week. The boys have 8 days left of school. Summer will be here very, very soon!!
