Spring Break

It's spring break week in Alaska and it's been sunny and beautiful so far, temp around 30 during the day and the slow melt is happening. Of course they are calling for snow tomorrow but we'll ride the wave of sunshine while we can. Here's some pics of our first 1/2 of the break in random order...

Last year at the end of Fall I picked up a trampoline on sale cheap, so grandpap came over and spent a few cold hours setting it up. The kids love it...
Katie jumping...

Here's Sammy... Daisy got spayed over the beginning of the break and she's on restriction and not happy to be stuck on the deck when the kids are playing...

Katie just a swinging and singing...

Sammy smiling, had to post this one...

Alex jumping machine...

Katie didn't want to stop peddling the bike to get a picture taken... So this is her silly face...

Sammy was determined to clear the deck and worked for 3 hours to get the snow and ice off so they could bike ride. He earned 2 dollars for his hard work!

Alex snapping his own pictures...
Katie flipping gynastics around the living room.

Sammy made dinner all by himself one night, stirfry...

Around Our House

Pics from our house... Katie changing her shoes for the 50th time... The jellies are her favorite (they are pink and blend in with her pants)...Daisy begging someone to play with her... Alex in the bathroom, working on his hair. This boy will spend forever looking at himself in the mirror!

Pencil Sharpener Katie. She loves being assigned this job and it keeps her busy!!

Sammy wouldn't let me take a picture of him :)

Juneau

I was in Juneau for a conference about 2 weeks ago. It was very blustery and the day I left they were in the middle of a wicked snowstorm that dumped 17 inches on the state capital. I sat in the airport during the storm and listened as they kept announcing that the incoming flights missed the chance to land and had to keep circling. It took an hour for the plane to make it in and another hour and a half for us to make it out. Juneau airport is surrounded by mountains and water and even with visibility is an interesting runway to go in and out of.
Here's a shot from my 2nd floor hotel room of the sunrise over the Juneau Harbor. In the summertime this dock is packed full of cruise ships... It was a little too cold and windy for me to want to venture outside this early to take the picture :)
