It's been a rough 3 days in our little valley of Alaska. High winds (Category 1 Hurricane) have been beating us up. Many power outages, blowing glacier silt and dirt and just plain ugly weather. Here's a photo from the Anchorage Daily News... It's calming down now to about 30 mph gusts, we were blowing at 50 mph with gusts to 85... I'll take snow anyday!
And No worries we still had school, crazy adminstrators... 33 buses were late this morning related to high wind issues...

Oh no! Welcome to what we experience here in Western New York, thanks to Lake Erie. I have decided snow is no problem, but high winds are the worst. Good luck in getting around.
With all the snow we've had in Maryland, school has only been open one or two days in the past two weeks. This area isn't equipped to handle the 1-2 feet piled up. It's crazy!
